As a transplanted New Englander, I now live in the Bay Area, soaking up the colors and textures of the west coast. Over the years, I have studied photography (lots of hand-colored black & white), art history, archaeology, painting and design, all of which inspire me daily.

Some years ago, I started combining the unpredictable beauty of watercolor painting with the control and flexibility of Photoshop. This 21st Century approach satisfies both my love for lush color and my inner-control-freak that insists on good, clean design.

Like most visual people, I try to surround myself with interesting and beautiful things. Some of these include Scandinavian textiles, hand-blown glass bowls, Meyer lemons, and fizzy drinks. I live in a bright red house in Oakland, California with my colorful family.

With the first launch of my illustration web site, clients and friends asked how they could buy cards made from my patterns – so I obliged by printing up those you see here. Having worked in the stationery industry for seven years and turning other peoples' work into merchandise, it felt great to see my own designs become cards.
